Gold Plus Roping Pilot Program

The Gold Plus membership is USTRC’s premier membership in which members receive numerous value added benefits including the Gold Plus roping which is offered to Gold Plus members at every USTRC Sanctioned event. Several unique benefits to the Gold Plus roping include a 25 and older age limit, Century Bonus side pot, double accumulation of Flex/Applied earnings, tens of thousands of dollars added to the Regional Finals, and a prize line at the Cinch NFTR that includes Ram trucks, Case tractors, and Gist gold buckles.

In response to greater demand for a division at Sanctioned events in which Gold Plus members classified as #4’s and #5’s feel competitive, USTRC is excited to launch its 2012 Gold Plus Roping Pilot Program. At specified USTRC Sanctioned events, a specialty #10 Gold Plus roping with a #9 Incentive will be added to the schedule for Gold Plus members who are 25 years of age or older. Please see details below:

o Gold Plus Division – #10 with a #9 Inc (capped at an Elite 5)
o Entry Fee - $100/roper
o Enter 3 times maximum as any combination of incentive/non-incentive
o 4 steer average, progressive after 1
o Century Bonus included
o Draw-In Option available to #3 and above headers/heelers
o $2000 Flex Earnings awarded to 1-3 place in #10 average and #9 Incentive average

The specialty add-on Gold Plus roping will be offered at the following 2012 events:
o New Mexico Championships – Clovis, NM – April 6-8
o Panhandle Classic – Amarillo, TX – April 27-29
o Spanish Trail Classic – Moab, UT – May 4-6
o Red Rock Classic – Gallup, NM – June 1-3
o West Texas Championships – San Angelo, TX – June 8-10
o Lasso Del Norte – Las Vegas, NM – June 21-24
o Oklahoma Championships – Guthrie, OK – June 29-July 1
o Turquoise Championships – Gallup NM – July 27-29
o Pine Country Classic – Flagstaff, AZ – September 1-3
o Texas Plains Championships – Abilene, TX – September 21-23

Over the past two years, the Gold Plus program has taken several steps to add more value to the Gold Plus program including adding $89,600 cash to the Gold Plus division at the 2011 Regional Finals and raising the Gold Plus roping age limit to 25 and older which has slowed the average winning times in the Gold Plus division down significantly. This pilot program is another initiative to offer more value to USTRC’s greatly appreciated Gold Plus members. Since these add-on ropings are being produced on a trial basis as part of a pilot program, some of these details are subject to change based on the feedback from Gold Plus members.
